Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Aspinal Dock ("the Application", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The Application is published by Aspinal Dev ("the Publisher").

We have designed Aspinal Dock to keep all data on your device. The Application does not contain advertising, third-party tracking SDKs, analytics services, or any server-side accounts. The Publisher does not operate any server that collects personal data from the Application, and the Application transmits no personal data to the Publisher.

1. Information We Collect

We collect none. The following information is created and stored on your own computer only, and is never transmitted to us or to any third party:

  • Configuration data — your dock layout, pinned applications, theme, language preference, animation settings. Stored in %LocalAppData%\AspinalDock\.
  • Local diagnostic logs — local files (interaction.log, icon-debug.log, crash.log) recording dock events such as launches from the dock, configuration changes, icon-loading details, and crash reports. They never leave your device and nothing is ever uploaded. You may delete these files at any time without affecting the Application.

When you install the Application or buy the Pro in-app purchase through Microsoft Store, the transaction is handled entirely by Microsoft Corporation under Microsoft's own privacy statement. The Application only asks Microsoft's Store runtime whether the signed-in Microsoft account owns the Pro add-on; no personal identifier, license key, or hardware fingerprint is transmitted by us — Microsoft is the sole processor of the purchase.

2. How We Use Information

We do not collect, store, or process any personal data on our own infrastructure; there is none to use. We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

3. Legal Basis (GDPR / KVKK)

For users in the European Union (GDPR) and Türkiye (KVKK, Law No. 6698): because the Publisher does not collect or process personal data, no GDPR / KVKK legal basis is invoked by the Publisher. Any personal data Microsoft Store processes in connection with your purchase is handled under Microsoft's own legal bases.

4. Data Retention

Local files on your device remain until you uninstall the Application or delete them manually. Uninstalling via Microsoft Store removes all Application data automatically.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Because we do not collect it, there is nothing for us to share.

6. Security

The Application does not transmit personal data to any server operated by the Publisher. Local configuration files are protected by standard Windows user-account permissions. No method of storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but industry-standard safeguards apply on the local device.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Türkiye: the Personal Data Protection Authority, KVKK). Because the Publisher holds no personal data, most of these rights have no data to apply to on the Publisher's side; they remain fully exercisable against Microsoft Corporation for any Store-transaction data.

8. Children

The Application is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where that is the applicable age). The Application does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

9. International Transfers

The Publisher operates no servers and transfers no personal data across borders.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above indicates the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Application or this page. Continued use of the Application after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
